Rummikub is a timeless tile-based game that challenges players to arrange their tiles in groups and sequences. The goal is straightforward: be the first to discard all your tiles to win! Whether you prefer to play online or in single-player mode, Rummikub offers an engaging experience for puzzle enthusiasts of all levels.

How to Play Rummikub

This online version of Rummikub includes a step-by-step tutorial to help you get started quickly. You can use it to familiarize yourself with the game's basic rules and mechanics.

Setting Up the Tiles

Each player starts with 14 tiles. You can use these tiles to create groups or runs:

  • Run: A sequence of three or more consecutive numbers of the same color (e.g., 4, 5, 6 in red).
  • Group: Three or more tiles of the same number in different colors (e.g., three 7s in blue, red, and black).

If you cannot create a valid run or group during your turn, you must draw an additional tile from the pool.

Basic Gameplay

Your first move, known as the “initial meld,” must add up to at least 30 points to be considered valid. These points are derived from the sum of tile values in a group or run. Once you've made your initial meld, you can then interact with the board to discard more of your tiles. Here’s what you can do:

  • Split and Shift Runs: Rearrange tiles to create new combinations.
  • Substitute Group Tiles: Replace a tile in a group with a different one.
  • Remove and Reinsert Tiles: Remove tiles from existing groups or runs and place them elsewhere.

With each turn, you’ll discover numerous ways to manipulate the board. Splitting, shifting, and replacing tiles effectively is where strategy comes into play, making Rummikub both challenging and fun.

The Objective

The aim is to be the first player to eliminate all your tiles. Develop your own strategies to achieve this and enjoy competing against others!

Game Modes

This version of Rummikub lets you challenge other players online. If you prefer playing solo, you can choose to play against AI opponents with various difficulty levels to sharpen your skills.
